too_many_rows Too Many Rows — SQLSTATE P0003

A PL/pgSQL SELECT INTO STRICT returned more than one row.

• The error is written to the server log and returned to the client carrying SQLSTATE P0003.
• Any driver (libpq, JDBC, psycopg, npgsql, pgx) surfaces this code in its error object so you can branch on it programmatically.
• PL/pgSQL can trap it by name: EXCEPTION WHEN too_many_rows THEN.

Reproduce with the exact statement and read the full message in the server log (raise log_min_messages / set log_min_error_statement for more context).

A SELECT ... INTO STRICT matched multiple rows, which STRICT forbids.

Steps to resolve P0003:

1. Make the query return exactly one row (add a key predicate or LIMIT 1).
2. If multiple rows are valid, remove STRICT and loop or aggregate.
