no_data_found No Data Found — SQLSTATE P0002

A PL/pgSQL SELECT INTO STRICT found no rows.

• The error is written to the server log and returned to the client carrying SQLSTATE P0002.
• Any driver (libpq, JDBC, psycopg, npgsql, pgx) surfaces this code in its error object so you can branch on it programmatically.
• PL/pgSQL can trap it by name: EXCEPTION WHEN no_data_found THEN.

Reproduce with the exact statement and read the full message in the server log (raise log_min_messages / set log_min_error_statement for more context).

A SELECT ... INTO STRICT returned zero rows, which STRICT treats as an error.

Steps to resolve P0002:

1. Handle it: EXCEPTION WHEN no_data_found THEN ....
2. If zero rows is valid, drop STRICT and check FOUND.
